My Last Entry

My first post was Nov 7 2005…

And here now is my last post.

Again, this is the last entry. But I won't close this blog. All the entries, comments, pictures, and this last lay-out will still be here. I'd like the feeling of reading my entries again and seeing myself smile, laugh, get teary-eyed, and even cringe at the things I wrote.

Once again, salamat po sa pag-babasa ninyo. Sana nagustuhan ninyo at nag-enjoy naman kayo.

Service = Noble deeds

So this morning we finally began our community service activities for our National Service Training Program class. We have to complete about 50-90 hours of community service to pass the course.

Our assignment was to assist in teaching a small kindergarten class in a depressed area near our campus. We actually arrived late because their class starts at 7:30am while our class starts at 8. We had to meet up at school first so we could travel together towards the venue. 8:30 na kami dumating so late kami ng isang oras para sa class nila.

Anyways, medyo stressful. Kahit na hindi sila ganun ka-kulit as expected eh nakaka-stress parin. We read them the "Pagong at Matsing" story, taught them the "Ba-Be-Bi-Bo-Bu", some basic addition and subtraction, and sang some songs namely "Kung Ikaw ay Masaya" at "Ako'y May Bibe(duck)" or something like that.

Masaya naman yung experience. Looking forward to our next "class". Medyo unprepared lang kami today dahil di namin alam kung ano exactly ang magiging assignment namin, pero na-carry naman. Their real teacher was there to guide us as well.

Lam nyo, in my opinion, I think we were just there para makapag-pahinga yung teacher nila. I know it sounds a little mababaw pero i suddenly realized, these people really do need our help.

I suddenly had a really big admiration and appreciation for kindergarten teachers and what they do. Before I just thought teachers were merely underpaid but now, I realized na besides being underpaid, they already have a really demanding and stressful job to begin with. Isa pa, ang ratio ng student-teacher eh sobrang laki. This morning alone we taught 2 different classes(one after the other), tapos yung teacher eh me tuturuan pa na dalawang class din sa hapon. I mean, talk about STRESS!

Sanayan lang rin siguro, tsaka you know, kapag mahal mo rin talaga yung trabaho mo. Besides, sabi nga nila, "teaching is the most noble of all professions". I checked out the meaning of the word and according to www.webster.com, noble means "possessing outstanding qualities; possessing, characterized by, or arising from superiority of mind or character or of ideals or morals".

Well, i think anyone who can resist the call of greener pasteurs overseas and decide to stay in our country to mold our children to become the hope of our country that they are, is a very noble person indeed.

Revamp ng revamp…

 As very few of you may have noticed (due to the fact na konti lang naman ang readers ko), pinalitan ko ulit ang lay-out ng aking blog. I think I'm in another un-decided phase.

One reason is that I did'nt really like the new i.ph lay-out I used. Parang sobrang "crowded" at "too many things going on" sa lay-out na yun. So balik ako sa dating lay-out at binago ko lang ang ilang elements.

With regards to the new title, I've been watching the HBO series Six Feet Under kasi sa DVD and I'm on the 3rd season na(we have the complete series!). There's this supporting character named Celeste played by Michelle Trachtenberg(Ice Princess, little sis ni Buffy The Vampire Slayer), she's a famous pop star sa series and her bodyguard is one of the main characters.

So itong si Celeste, may bagong album and it's called Me. Here. Now.

Ellen Degeneres(herself): Interviewing Celeste in her talkshow. "So your album is called "me here now"? Is that Me "comma" here now? Or…"

Celeste: No, its Me period, Here period, Now period. You know? Like an exclamation… "

Ayun, so na-stuck sa mind ko yung scene na yun, and when I was thinking of a new title, I remembered that scene. Ewan, parang cool, although feeling ko, for the sake of being sarcastic lang yung character ni Celeste sa series, but I kinda like it.

Me. Here. Now. You know? Like an exclamation!

By the way…

I'm currently reading this. This is Book II of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and I finished Book I (Interview with the Vampire) last year. We only have Book I & II at home and I guess I'm gonna buy the rest as I read them. What can I say? Ganda naman sya eh. Sarap basahin. I like how Anne writes, I guess. Parang nagiging ka-close mo talaga yung characters niya. Galing niya rin mag-"transport" ng reader to and from different times. I guess may bago na akong series na babasahin once the HP series finally meets it's conclusion.

We all know about this Vampire Chronicles naman diba? "Interview" was made into a movie nung 90's with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst where in Anne Rice is also the screen writer. While Book III, The Queen of the Damned, was also turned into a movie a few years back.

Trivia-trivia: Did you know na Queen of the Damned was supposed to be made straight to video? Pinalabas nalang siya sa theatres dahil they had a big publicity due to Aaliyah's death. Para pagkakitaan na rin ng mas malaki yung movie. Obviously di ko pa nababasa yung book III pero I can already say na hindi true to the book yung movie. Di na rin kasi si Anne Rice yung nag-write para sa screen nito.

Ayun lang. As of now in my readings, kaka-meet lang ni Lestat and Marius, and no, Marius is not Lestat's maker as stated in the "Queen" movie. I think Marius is about to tell Lestat about the origin of the vampires. Lalabas na rin sa book na 'to yung Queen of the Damned eh.

Pissed off but… oh, well.

So this morning nag-alarm ako ng 6am. Snooze ako ng snooze and by the time na bumangon ako eh 7am na and my first class starts at 8am, may very belated prelim quiz dapat kami sa NSTP. I had exactly 1hour to prepare AND travel for school; supposedly 30mins para maligo at mag-bihis and another 30 for the commute, but it turns out 40mins pagprepare at 20mins sa pagtravel. haha

Anyways, to cut a long story short, dumating ako sa school 8:20 na and ang nakaka-inis isabsent pala anginstructor namin. Walang-hiya!

The part i really hate is sana nagpagulong-gulong nalang ako sa kama at natulog. But no!!! Nagpaka-bait ako today at bumangon at naligo at pumasok, para lang sa WALA! Hay.

Buhay nga naman. Next class is at 1:30pm.

Revamped!!!

i.ph has 2 new templates. Me likey this one so I changed my blog's lay-out yet again. This time, it's now called Time To Fly(papalitan kaya ulit ni Lyle of coffeeteria yung link ko sa blog niya?).

Well, anyways, Christmas day just came and passed. Got a new wallet, shades, and perfume from my sister, brother, and mother respectively.

I have been wanting to update for a few days now, and kung kelan gumanda ang connection ng dial-up eh saka ko naman nakalimutan mga gusto kong sabihin. Well anywas, J. K. Rowling just released the title for the Harry Potter 7th and final book… It'll be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, no date for the release of the book though, di nya pa nga ata tapos. Meanwhile movie number 5 will be in theaters next year, July 13, 2007, which happens to be my birthday, hehe.
